Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Five ships carrying containers, cement, furnace oil and edible oil were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal on Monday.

Meanwhile six more ships carrying containers, diesel oil, furnace oil and soya been oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 85pc at the port on Tuesday where total nine ships namely Maersk Mamphis, Safmarine, Nelives Peranza, M.V Hay, Genco Dyrenees, Inlaco Brave, Boreaqi, Lahore and M.T Asavari are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, general cargo, wheat, sunflower seeds, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during lest 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 75766 tonnes comprising 55005 tonnes imports and 20761 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2118 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
