Food Dept forms body to probe missing wheat bags worth Rs50mn

KARACHI: The Food Department has formed an inquiry committee to probe into the reports about the missing of 13306 wheat bags worth Rs. 50 million.

According to a handout issued here on Sunday, some 13306 wheat bags were found missing during the inspection at Garhi Khairo, Jacobabad godowns.

The matter was brought to the notice of Provincial Minister for Food Jam Mehtab Hussain Dehar on which he ordered suspension of godowns' In-charges Saifuddin Bhatti and Ali Raza Buledi and formed an inquiry committee headed by Additional Secretary, Food to probe the matter further and submit a report within 15 days.

The Minister has also warned that no employee of Food Department will be spared if found involved in corruption or negligence of duties.
