This was told by agricultural expert Ch Azam Ali Soroya to APP here on Sunday. He said that increase in supply of potato, onion and tomato in markets would reduce prices of the vegetables and potato will be available at Rs 25 to 30 per kg, onion at Rs 35 to 40 and tomato at Rs 50 to 60 per kg.
According to the marketing section of the Agriculture Department Punjab, the new crop of potato including class 1 and 2 is coming in market from Sargodha, Khoshab, Kasur, Sialkot, Okara, Sheikhupura and Lahore districts and supply will improve till the mid of December.
Onion is cultivated from November to April in Sindh and it has started reaching market and its prices will be reduced by the mid of the month.
Likewise, the local crop of tomato is ready and prices of the vegetable have already reduced in Sindh market, however,prices in Punjab are expected to be decreased in two weeks.
