ISLAMABAD: Energy expert Dr. Gulfaraz Ahmad has said that the government plan of drilling 110 gas wells during the current fiscal year is a positive approach.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, Dr. Gulfraz said that there were more chances of exploration of gas than petrol in Pakistan.

He added that the government aims to drill 110 gas wells, was a good sign but these can be drilled after confirmation of gas.

He stated that the oil exploration companies gave this figure only after pointing out the areas of expected presence of gas.

He further said that drilling of 110 gas wells in one year was impossible but government's determination is a good sign regarding this.

He stated that it would take three or more years to develop gas infrastructure after the discovery of gas in a particular area.
