Army leadership briefing to the members of the Parliament after the Abbottabad incident was commendable, he said.
Talking to a news channel he said that Pakistan is a big ally in war on terror and has given sacrifices of precious lives of the people and army men.
He said that efforts were being made by the government to eradicate the menace of extremism and terrorism.
He said that Pakistan is confronting challenges and there is a need to tackle the national issues with unity, sagacity and wisdom.
Qamar Zaman Kaira stressed the need for unity of all the political parties and the people.
He said that the people belonging to all segment of society should trust in the leadership of Pakistan Armed forces and the government which he added is necessary to solve the issues.
Replying to a question he said that Parliament should be used for making policies and through media, it should be avoided.
He said that Pakistan Muslim League (N) has demanded an Independent Commission, and added that the demand has been accepted by all parties.
Expressing dismay over the remarks of the leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-N against the institutions, Kaira said, "it is very unfortunate."
He said that all political leadership should stand with the government on national issues.
