According to SP City Dr Asif Shahzad, local people saw the bag and informed the police which immediately reached the spot and took it into custody.
The bag contained 10 hand-grenades, magazines and a suicide jacket. The bomb dispose unit also reached there and defused the explosives and suicide jacket, the SP City added.
Police launched a search operation in the area but no arrest has yet been made, he said.
