PNCA stages ‘Extra’ staged to highlight social issues

Written by Yasira Rizvi and directed by Ibrahim Khan, the play was presented by Gravity Production with excellent sets portraying a complete ambiance of the story.

The play revolves around the life of an extra dancer from Pakistani film industry who comes in old age of her life.

The actress faces a robbery in her house but treats the robbers fearlessly like a movie scene while interesting dialogues and movie-like scenes made the play more fascinating.

The ten-day drama festival is continuing till May 19 as part of PNCA's activities to promote theater and its role among the young generation.

The festival has been arranged to promote positive activities among the youth and bring quality entertainment for the fun lovers of twin cities.

The remaining days of the festival will showcase social issues, values and norms in plays including `Funkar' by Notanki Theater Rawalpindi, `Aik Raat' by Supervision Communication, `Wrong Number' by BF Production, `Khushi' by The Entertainers, `Draikula' by Anjum Malik Production, and `Khawab Nagar' by Evergreen Productions.

The organizers of the festival termed the theater as a cheap and strong medium for correction of society with entertainment.

With dialogues of humor, criticism and information, the stage plays create an atmosphere for audience that can realize and think about social evils and recognize the way to get rid of them.
