PESCO disconnects power supply of defaulters, recovers pending dues

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO)'s Disconnection and Recovery Teams have disconnected power supply of several defaulters' consumers for non-payment of outstanding amount and arrears in Nowshera cantonment division and recovered pending dues from different circles.

According to PESCO spokesman here Friday, the recovery campaign was in full swing through out the province and Rs 200,000 have been recovered from defaulters in Nowshera cantonment division. Similarly, Rs 17 lac from 30 defaulters have been recovered from Kohat division while a cases were sent to the concerned police stations for lodging FIRs against 37 consumers involved in power theft.

Similarly, the Disconnection Teams of Mathani sub division have recovered Rs 1.5 lac from defaulters while power supply of consumers was disconnected from 100 KVA transformer on charges of using direct hooks and power stealing.

In Kohat Division from 26 defaulter consumers Rs 18 lac have been recovered while power supply of several consumers were disconnected from three distribution transformers due to non payment of Rs 3 lac outstanding dues.

Also, power supply was disconnected of the 73 defaulters of 11 kv Achini feeder from three 200 KVA distribution transformers due to non payment of dues of Rs 8 lac. The recovery teams in Hangu have also recovered 3 lac rupees from 78 defaulter consumers and expended circle of recovery.

The defaulters have been strongly warned to deposit their dues at earliest, otherwise their electricity will not be restored and strict legal action would be taken against them.
