Delegation of FATA transporters calls on Governor KP

PESHAWAR: A delegation of transporters engaged in transporting goods via Torkham Border called on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engineer Shaukatullah at Governor's House, here.

The delegation was led by MNA Haji Shahji Gul and MNAs from FATA, Nasir Khan Afridi, Dr. Haji Ghazi Gulab Jamal and Sajid Hussain Turi were also present on the occasion.

Responding to various points raised by members of the delegation, the Governor highlighted the importance of the transport business in economic development of the country and appreciated the role which transporters of both hailing from Pakistan and Afghanistan have been contributing in generating economic activities.

He also assured the delegates to take up their problems at the respective quarters and get them resolved to the maximum extent. Talking on a point, the Governor also advised the transporters to be conscious of importance of road infrastructure and discourage the trend of over loading.

Meanwhile, the transporters engaged in the transport business between Pakistan and Afghanistan highlighted some of the problems which they have been facing and requested the Governor to help them in their resolution.
