Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Four ships C.V Nijran, C.V Maersk Kinston, M T Akaki Bunga and M.T Alamonda carrying containers, furnace oil and palm oil were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Tuesday, 06th August. Meanwhile on oil tanker 'Lahore' also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at fifty percent on Tuesday where seven ships namely C.V Nijran, C.V Maersk Kinston, C.V Nysted Maersk, M.V Beacon-SW, M.V Elini-D, M.T Akaki Bunga and M.T Alamanda are currently occupying berths to load / offload containers, wheat, urea, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 100,927 tonnes comprises 66,385 tonnes imports and 34,542 tonnes exoorts inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,237 containers (TEUs) ( 1,419 imports and 1,818 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port.

Two ships C:V Nijran and C.V Nysted Maersk sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning while two more ships C.V Maersk Kinston and M.V Elini-D are expected to sail on same day.

Containers ship CMA CGM Rossini is expected to take berth at QICT on Wednesday, 07th August while another ship C.V CMA CGM Coral is due to arrive at Port Qasin on Thursday, 08th August, 2013.
