In a statement issued for AllWorld Network from his office, Dr. Abdul Hafiz Shaikh, Minister for Finance, Economic Affairs, and Revenue said, "The power of the Pakistan 100 will be to surface new horizons for growth, to quicken the pace of economic development, and to be a catalyst for transparency and progress in Pakistan".
The Finance Minister further said that the AllWorld Pakistan 100 Entrepreneurs will set a new benchmark for entrepreneurship and illustrate that in spite of the challenges, Pakistan offers valuable investment and business opportunity.
According to a press statement issued here on Saturday the Pakistan 100 is a ranking of the most dynamic up and coming companies creating the next jobs and industries. Private, non-listed companies will be ranked based on their revenue/turn over growth from 2008 to 2010. Entrepreneurs from any industry are invited to apply at www.AllWorldLive.com.
The Pakistan 100 follows the announcement in January of the Pakistan 25 winners. As a group, the Pakistan 25 broke AllWorld records for the highest growth of 8 countries in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. The companies who made the Pakistan 25 posted an 81 per cent annual growth rate between 2007 and 2009 with an average size of 400 employees per company. These companies ranged in industries from technology to textiles.
The Pakistan 25 was supported by JS Bank Limited, TiE, FPCCI, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pasha and Mishal (Pvt.) Ltd.
Based on the results of the Pakistan 25, AllWorld and its partners are expanding the effort to an annual Pakistan 100 ranking.
The Pakistan 100 will be published nationally and globally, giving visibility to emerging companies, and highlighting to the world what is working in Pakistan.
