Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships carrying containers and chemicals were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal on Sunday, Port sources said here on Monday.

The sources fureher said three more ships carrying containers, furnace oil and edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 55% at the port on Monday where a total six ships namely Maersk Detroit, M.V Faith, MT Sofia Atlantic Glory, Cape Durango and M.T Outrivaling are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, cement, chemical and iron ore respectively.

A cargo volume of 18556 tonnes comprising 14125 tonnes imports and 4431 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 421 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during the last 24 hours, according to the sources.
