Visit Ayub Agricultural Research Institute (AARI) Faisalabad here on Sunday, he emphasized agri scientists to extend their cooperation for addressing problems of the farming community.
He said a prime objective of agriculture research was take out solutions of problems being faced by the farming community and the agriculture scientists should strengthen coordination with farmers so that research priorities could be formulated keeping in view problems of small growers.
The minister said scientists should also evolve a comprehensive strategy to face new agriculture related challenges like climatic changes, water scarcity and increasing temperature.
Dr Noorul Islam, Director General Agriculture (Research) AARI, informed the minister about the research conducted at the institute and said with the help of new varieties developed at AARI, rapid increase in crops, fruits and vegetables would be achieved in next five years.
Later, the minister also visited research laboratories and experimental area of AARI.
