BEIJING: China's daily crude oil imports in May rose 0.4 percent from the previous month as crude runs at some Chinese refineries rebounded after the completion of maintenance and as state-run ChemChina stepped up crude purchases.

China, the world's largest crude buyer after the United States, shipped in 23.95 million tonnes, or 5.64 million barrels per day (bpd), of crude oil last month, down 6 percent from a record high 6.0 million bpd the same month a year ago but inching up from the 5.62 million bpd imported in April.
