Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships carrying containers and chemicals were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal on Sunday, Port sources said here Monday.

Three more ships carrying containers, chemical and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 45% at the Port on Monday where a total of five ships namely Maersk Columbus, Atlantic Glory, Vina Shipsea, Spring Sunrise and Argent Daisy are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, chemical and urea respectively.

A cargo volume of 33955 tonnes comprising 32254 tonnes imports and 1701 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 432 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during the last 24 hours.
