The company is seeking a 500 ppm sulphur gasoil cargo for May 20 to 31 loading from either Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, South China or Taiwan, the document stated.
The tender closes on April 25 and is valid until April 26 Petrolimex had stayed away from the spot market due to a weak domestic demand and high inventory but could be returning due to a spike in demand, traders said.
The company recently bought more than 200,000 tonnes of gasoil for second quarter delivery, its first quarterly purchase of fuel for domestic distribution after it ditched buying cargoes through the three-month tender for three cycles.
Its latest spot requirement coincides with larger than usual purchases by BP and Vitol of the 500 ppm sulphur gasoil grade, which could contribute to increase in premiums, the traders added.
