Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Two ships carrying containers and diesel oil were allotted berth at Qasim International and FOTCO Terminals respectively during the last 24 hours, port sources said here Monday.

Meanwhile six more ships scheduled to load/ offload container, cement, wheat and general cargo also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 45% at the port on Monday where total number of five ships namely MV. Maersk Carollina, MSC Levian, Diamond Sea, Mercy Wisdom and Al Kuwaitiah are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, rice, wheat and diesel oil respectively.

A cargo volume of 73,773 tonnes comprising 63,454 tonnes imports and 10,319 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2200 containers (Boxes) were handled at the port during last 24 hours.
