Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships carrying containers and edible oil were allotted berth at Qasim International and LCT Terminals respectively during the last 24 hours, port sources said here Tuesday.

Four more ships scheduled to load/ offload containers, wheat and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 75% at the port on Tuesday where total number of eight ships namely MV. Nystead Maersk, Allaince St. Louis, Reecon Faith, Dia Duong Sunrise, Recon Emre Atlantic Glory, Chem Road Journey and Argent Bright are currently occupying berth to load/ offload containers, cement, rice, wheat, chemical and edible oil respectively.

A cargo volume of 47,551 tonnes comprising 35,948 tonnes import and 11,603 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1,339 containers (Boxes) were handled at the port during the last 24 hours.
