Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: A ship carrying containers was allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal during last 24 hours, port sources said here Tuesday.

Two more ships scheduled to load/ offload containers also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 55 percent at the Port on Tuesday where total number of six ships namely M.V Maersk Phuket, Kuksan, Mercy Wisdom, Maori Maiden, Chem Road Dita and Global Challenger are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, cement, wheat, rice, chemical and edible oil respectively.

A cargo volume of 46023 tonnes comprising 33891 tonnes imports and 12132 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1078 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port during the last 24 hours, port sources further said.
