Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Two ships C.V Maersk Missouri and M.V Sun Bright scheduled to load/ offload containers and rice were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Grain & Fertiliser Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Sunday, the port sources said here Monday.

Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at 21% on Sunday where three ships namely C.V Maersk Missouri, M.V Sun Bright and M.T Maritime Yanessa are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, rice and palm oil.

A cargo volume of 30,032 tonnes comprising 12,401 tonnes imports and 17,631 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1,267 containers (429 imports and 838 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port during the last 24 hours.

Edlble oil ship 'Maritime Yanessa' and container vessel 'Maersk Missouri' are expected to sail on Monday afternoon.

Two ships C.V Maersk Phuket and C.V CMA CGM Debussy carrying containers are expected to take berths at Container Terminal on March 25, while two more containers ships 'Abu Dhabi' and Emirates Mombasa are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday, March 26.
