Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Four ships carrying containers and edible oil were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal on Thursday.

Meanwhile one more ship carrying containers also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 65% at the Port on Friday where a total of seven ships namely Michaelas, Mare Atlanticum, Nedlloyd Drake, Reecon Emre, Union Mariner, Dong-A-Iris and Chem Road Nova are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, wheat, canola seed and edible oil respectively.

A cargo volume of 90125 tonnes comprising 65828 tonnes imports and 24297 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried on 2509 containers( TEUs) was handled at the Port during the last 24 hours.
