"Such attacks are counter-productive and only strengthen the hands of terrorists," said Foreign Office spokesperson Tehmina Janjua while replying to questions on the recent drone attacks at the weekly briefing.
She said, "Drone attacks have become a main irritant in the counter-terror campaign."
The spokesperson said, "Pakistan has repeatedly taken up the matter with the US at all levels."
She said that Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday gave a comprehensive statement on the drone attacks and expressed Pakistan's resentment on the issue.
"The Foreign Secretary has lodged a strong protest with the US Ambassador on the latest drone attack yesterday," she added.
To a question regarding Pak-US ties, the spokesperson said, "Pakistan attaches great importance to these relations and has been engaged with the American leadership to cooperate and coordinate in the law enforcement operations against terrorists and to improve bilateral relations in all the fields."
The spokesperson said, "Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir will visit Washington D.C. on April 21 and 22 on the invitation of the United States to hold consultations on a broad range of issues, including bilateral relations, matters pertaining to countering terrorism and Afghanistan as well as on-going developments in the Middle East and North Africa."
She said that the law enforcement agencies of the two countries were also cooperating with each other in operations against terrorists, miscreants and militants.
Replying to a question on Pak-India relations, the spokesperson said that their commerce secretaries would meet in Islamabad on April 27 and 28 under the resumed dialogue process and discuss ways and means for promoting economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries.
The spokesperson said as decided in the meeting of Pakistan-India interior ministers, the members of the Judicial Committee on Prisoners would visit Pakistan from April 19 to 23.
The Judicial Committee on Prisoners comprises of four eminent retired judges each from Pakistan and India.
The spokesperson said that 81 Indian fishermen prisoners would be handed over to the Indian side at the Wagha borders on Friday.
Regarding the visit of President Asif Ali Zardari to Turkey, the spokesperson said, the President had excellent meetings with the Turkish leadership.
She said that the ongoing visit had further boosted Pakistan's excellent bilateral ties with Turkey.
The spokesperson said that both the sides had agreed to enhance economic and commercial relations that included enhancing connectivity by upgrading the existing Islamabad-Istanbul rail link.
She said that Pakistan and Turkey also agreed to double the trade to US& 2 billion as well as working closely to enhance bilateral financial and banking sector cooperation.
Replying to a question about the arrest of a Pakistani Abdul Rauf in Chili, the spokesperson said that few Pakistanis had been arrested in Chile on visa issue. She said that the Foreign Office was collecting details about their cases through the mission in Chile.
Answering a question about injuring of a Pakistani diplomat in Khatmandu, the spokesperson said that a member of Pakistani mission was attacked and he was hospitalized and recovering from the wounds. She said that further details were being collected.
Regarding recovery of 16 Pakistanis by Danish authorities from the
Somalian pirates, the spokesperson said that the Pakistanis were being shifted to their original ship on the request and then they themselves would decide regarding their to return to Pakistan.
