Taiwan stocks end flat; plastics, rubber weigh

TAIPEI: Taiwan stocks ended flat on Wednesday, as gains in electronics component companies and chip makers were offset by losses in plastic and rubber makers.

The main TAIEX index edged up 0.8 points to 8,018.90, after opening up 0.3 percent.

Electronics gained 0.4 percent while financial shares advanced 0.5 percent.

The Taiwan dollar was up T$0.058 to stand at T$29.672 to the US dollar.
