Economist Dr Moeen for completion of Pak-Iran Gas pipeline agreement

Talking to a private TV channel, he said that elevan members of Pakistan delegation have reached Tehran on wednesday and will talk about Pak-Iran gas pipeline agreement in details.

He said signing of this agreement will enable Pakistan to have access to 750 million cubic feet gas supply to meet the requirements.

Dr Moeen said that the talks on gas pipeline issue have entered into its final stages.

"Pakistan needs energy in abundance as it is in acute shortage. We depends so much on gas in our daily routine activities such as public transport and CNG cars, household needs,Industry and commercial purposes", he said.

He said this project carries vital importance as there are no sufficient resources of oil and gas in Pakistan. So there is dire need that this agreement process be completed very soon.

Dr Nasir said all planning work have been completed in this regard adding practical work on the agreement will start accordingly to achieve the results.

Replaying to a question he said "we can obtain gas within two to three years from this project provided work being done with Pak-Iran cooperation simultaneously.
