LAHORE: The Pakistan Railways will have to bear Rs139.574 million additional deficit in fuel purchase from March 1 to June 30 after a recent increase in fuel prices.

A PR spokesman, in a statement on Friday, said the department had to buy 263,000 litre diesel to meet daily operational needs, adding that prices of diesel had been raised from Rs109.71 a litre to Rs114.06 a litre which would overburden the department.
