US Consulate team visits FPCCI to discuss GSP Scheme
He stated this while welcoming a team from Consulate General of the United States in Karachi, which visited the Federation House to give a presentation on "Expanding Pakistan's Exports to USA through the Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) scheme. The visit was held as a follow-up to the US Consul General's visit to FPCCI earlier this year, when many businessmen had expressed the desire to learn more about market access to the United States, said a release here on Wednesday. In her presentation, Ms. Kara Babrowski mentioned that Pakistan was eligible for duty-free access to several products under the GSP scheme. But, she said, low levels of awareness about GSP meant that there was meagre utilisation of the duty free trade access facility. She provided the participants with useful reference material which they could find helpful in increasing their awareness on the subject, and also encouraged them to study her presentation in detail. The meeting was attended by a good number of business people desiring to learn how to improve their exports to the American market.
