Earlier, the court provided the accused copies of challan which was submitted on the orders of judge who directed the FIA authorities to submit complete or incomplete challan in the court by 2 pm after noon during the same day.
According to details, FIA authorities produced Moonis Elahi before the court seeking adjournment till the next date for preparation of challan against him.
At this stage, defence counsel argued that FIA was deliberately prolonging the proceedings to create mental torture for the accused.
He argued that FIA could not yet prepare the challan against Moonis Elahi because he was innocent and FIA had nothing to prove against him.
The court after hearing the arguments ordered FIA to submit the challan by 2 pm during the same day.
FIA, after court orders submitted the challan in the court before 2 pm while the court adjourned further proceedings till April 19.
Moonis Elahi surrendered to FIA officials after a division bench of the Lahore High court rejected his bail petition against the orders of Judge Special Court Banking for his arrest in NICL scam.
Additional Director General FIA Zafar Quershi had told the LHC that FIA had evidence and witnesses against Moonis Elahi.
He said that Rs 320 million was transferred from NICL to bogus accounts and during the investigation it was revealed that the said amount was later transferred to Moonis.
