Water in Tarbela Dam touches dead level

ISLAMABAD: The water level in Tarbela Dam touched dead level of 1378 feet on Monday while water level is 44.35 feet above its dead level in Mangla dam.

According to data released by Indus River System Authority

(IRSA) here, the maximum water level in River Indus at Tarbela was 1378 feet, water inflow and outflow in the dam was recorded same as 22,300 cusecs.

The water level at River Jhelum at Mangla was 1084.35 feet which is 44.35 feet above its dead level of 1040 feet whereas the inflow and outflow of water in the dam was recorded as 25,376 and 45,000 cusecs respectively.

Meanwhile, IRSA released 100,505 cusecs water from various rim stations while the inflow remained as 80,881 cusecs.

The release of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa and Sukkur was recorded as 37,026, 42,568 and 39,965 cusecs respectively.

Similarly, from River Kabul a total of 19,200 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera and 14,005 cusecs released from River Chenab at Marala.
