Shahbaz Sharif, Rana Sanaullah hurdles in LHC bench in Faisalabad

Sharif brothers are known to shift loyalties, he said.

On finding a heavy police presence while staging a demonstration outside the session court lawyers went on a rampage and locked the main gate of the building.

They seemed to be losing their patience against authorities as their protest for setting up of a high court bench entered the sixth consecutive day, which led to locking of civil courts, session courts and DC office here on Saturday.

Lawyers said the locks would not be opened until setting up of a high court bench in Fasislabad, adding, administrative offices would also be put under locks.

On February 10, all four District Bar Associations (DBAs) of Faisalabad division agreed to boycott the upcoming Lahore High Court (LHC) Bar Association elections as the LHC Bar Association was opposing their demand for setting up a bench of LHC at Faisalabad.

Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot and Jhang bar associations declared that their members will not vote to elect office bearers of LHC Bar Association.

The DBAs decided to lock all courts in the division for a week, and said they would continue with their protest if their demands were not met, and resort to an indefinite strike.

The boycott decision was taken during a divisional convention of lawyers. The protest was led by Mian Javaid Iqbal, Faisalabad DBA president on University Road.
