Earlier, the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Director of Legal Affairs Mohammed Azam told the SC that over Rs5.5 million had been recovered from the Rs46 million spent on free Haj packages.

A four-member bench of the SC headed by Chief Justice Ifitkhar Mohammed Chaudhry heard the Haj corruption case.

An FIA official told the court that a total of 450 people had performed Haj free-of-cost in two phases.

In his remarks, the Chief Justice said the court was only concerned about the recovery of misused money; the rest of the issues would be dealt with by the lower courts
