This was stated by Administrator KMC, Muhammad Hussain Syed during a meeting with Head of the British Company, Richard Cook in his office here on Saturday, said a release.

 

The KMC Chief said this project will help in maintaining cleanliness in the city besides enhancing the power supply to the city.

 

He praised the cleanliness system, transfer of garbage to land-fill sites and its very scientific handling in London and Glasgow.

 

He proposed that service of the international companies providing civic services should be sought to upgrade the municipal system in Karachi under public-private partnership.

 

Muhammad Hussain Syed said that Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul- Ebad Khan was also taking keen interest in this project and wanted to see its earliest execution in view of its importance.

 

Richard Cook said that it would be a pride for them to provide their service to the citizens of Karachi. His company has a long experience in solid waste management and has been working in many countries.

 

He said that his company would do solid waste management in such a way that it would have no effect on population of the city. The small vehicles would bring the garbage to land-fill sites for the production of electricity.
