The government would provide required funds for the completion of ongoing development projects launched by Labour department.

New welfare schemes would also be initiated for providing modern education and healthcare facilities to labour families.

The minister said that the department is introducing hospital management information system, estimatedly with Rs 42 million,with the technical assistance of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital,adding that the scheme would be introduced at the dispensary level in phases.

According to a hand out, while talking to various delegations of workers, Syed Ehsaan-ud-Din Qureshi said that steps were underway to eradicate bonded labour and for this purpose the department was launching extension of projects for elimination of bonded labour in brick kilns in eight additional districts with a cost of Rs 180 million.

He said another Rs. 138 million would be spent on combating worst forms of child labour in four districts of province.

He said that Rs 100 million would be utilized for the setting up labour market information and resource center for the welfare of labour community.
