CHICAGO Chicago Board of Trade corn futures ended slightly lower on Wednesday as beneficial rains hit growing areas, traders said. CBOT July corn was down 1-1/4 cents at $3.26-1/4 a bushel at the close of trading.
Rains fell across the Delta, Midwest and the northern Plains that generally eased dryness and favored growth of corn and soybeans, according to Maxar, a weather firm. Some flooding in the Delta and Midwest was not severe enough to cause significant crop damage, the company said.
