KARACHI: On Monday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 4,285.

The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 8.867 billion and the number of lots traded was 13,588.

Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 3.641 billion, followed by currencies through COTS PKR 1.502 billion, copper PKR 1.407 billion, crude oil PKR 706.053 million, silver PKR 542.035 million, DJ PKR 307.257 million, NSDQ 100 PKR 307.050 million, platinum PKR 242.158 million, SP500 PKR 115.935 million, natural gas PKR 91.162 million and Japan equity PKR 3.800 million.

In agriculture commodities, 3 lots of wheat amounting to PKR 12.623 million, 1 lot of soybean valued at PKR 7.129 million, 11 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 5.534 million and 2 lots of corn valued at PKR 5.439 were traded.
