KARACHI: On Friday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 4,273. The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 8.222 billion and the number of lots traded was 12,928.
Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 4.350 billion, followed by currencies through COTS PKR 1.052 billion, NSDQ 100 PKR 725.861 million, silver PKR 583.498 million, DJ PKR 552.630 million, crude oil PKR 445.317 million, SP500 PKR 243.358 million, platinum PKR 155.054 million, natural gas PKR 104.062 million and copper PKR 10.740 million. In agriculture commodities, one lot of wheat amounting to PKR 4.304 million and 7 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 3.516 million were traded.
