Two US police officers have been suspended without pay for shoving an elderly man on the ground and leaving him lying unconscious with blood coming out of his ears.

A video surfaced on social media in which a 75-year-old protester can be seen approaching dozens of police officers who are all wearing full riot gear. The officers can be seen clearing Niagara Square in Buffalo to enforce the city's curfew.

As soon as the protester approach them, the officers yell 'Move' and 'push him'. The two officers in the front then shove the older man back, with one of them using his baton to push the man backward.

The elderly man falls on the ground his head smacking against the sidewalk. He is then seen laying motionless on the ground with blood coming out of his year.

Video also shows the officer who pushed the man with a baton begin to kneel down, but another officer behind him pulls him up and pushes him to keep walking down the sidewalk.

Following the incident, the two officers with the Buffalo Police Department have been suspended without pay.
