OIC meets today to discuss situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir

  • Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will brief the participants via video conference.

An emergency virtual meeting of the the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK) will be held on Monday at the ministerial level.

The meeting has been called on Pakistan's request. OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousaf Al-Othaimeen will chair the meeting in which Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mahmood Qureshi will brief the participants of the crisis in IoK.

Pakistan condemns extra-judicial killing of 13 Kashmiris in a day by Indian forces

The meeting has been summoned in wake of the extra-judicial killings of Kashmiris by the Indian forces in IoK. This will be the third meeting of the OIC since India’s illegal and unilateral actions of August 5 2019 in occupied Kashmir.

According to Foreign Office, FM of Azerbaijan, Niger, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, and the representatives of the OIC-Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission are expected to attend. The AJK President and True Representatives of the Kashmiri People will also participate in the virtual meeting.
