bhagwanda 400ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) Justice ( Retd) Rana Bhagwandas has said that Sindh has always remained the land of peace, progress, amity, human and interfaith harmony.

He was speaking at the launching ceremony of a booklet titled, " Sufi Shah Inayat- a symbol of interfaith harmony and civil liberties", compiled by Dr Khadim Hussain, a noted researcher and author, at the National Language here.

He said, "We all have to strive for peace, amity and tolerance because the promising future of this country lies in the promotion of such precious values".

Bhagwandas underscored the need to promote the `humanity rearing and caring message' of these Sufi saints to fight off the obscurantist forces of fundamentalism and extremism that were gnawing at the roots of the society.

"We must promote the message of love, peace and universal brotherhood of the Sufi saints," he emphasized.

On the occasion, Dr Soomro said that like all Sufis of Indus Valley, Sufi Shah Inyat also promoted peace, love and tolerance and it was he who pioneered the idea of `commune' in Sindh much before the European world.

"In early eighteenth century Sufi Shah Inayat was custodian of Sufi message and challenged the autocratic and sectarian regime and waged ware against the evil rulers and their repressive etiquette" he illustrated.

Hashim Abro, chief of the Pakistan Intellectual Forum (PIF), addressing the ceremony said that Sufi Shah Inayat taught us to be united against civil injustice.

Sufi Shah Inayat calls to speak for the weak, for the voiceless, for the victims of our nation. If we have to rediscover our lost precious values then we must have to read the life and message of this revolutionary figure of Sindh, who believes that love is the key that unlocks the door which leads to ultimate reality, he added.
