Increase in prices of edibles in Ramazan: LHC summons Secretary Industries Punjab

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday directed Secretary Industries Punjab to appear in person before the court on July 14 and explain as to why the prices of the edibles have been increased in the holy Month of Ramazan. The court asked the law officer to tell the court whether the government has constituted any committee to check and control the prices. Earlier, the court expressed displeasure over Punjab Secretary for Industries for not submitting a report about government's action to control prices of edible items during the holy month of Ramazan.
