ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar Thursday chaired a committee meeting to review key health sector initiatives, focusing on engagement of Pakistani health professionals abroad and joint vaccine production.

The meeting examined proposals to facilitate the recruitment of Pakistani medical practitioners, particularly dentists, in international health institutions outside Pakistan. Participants also evaluated the technical and regulatory aspects of exploring domestic vaccine production and technology transfer in collaboration with friendly countries.

The DPM/FM highlighted these initiatives as vital to showcasing the expertise of Pakistan’s healthcare professionals. He emphasised the importance of establishing transparent, well-coordinated mechanisms to expand global avenues for health professionals while simultaneously accelerating efforts towards local vaccine manufacturing and licensing.

The meeting was attended by the Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination; SAPM Tariq Bajwa; Secretary Health; President of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC); alongside senior officials from the concerned ministries.
