ISLAMABAD: The Board of Directors of the easypaisa digital bank approved the financial statements for the nine months ended September 30, 2026.

The bank announced its financial performance, reporting a Profit Before Tax (PBT) of PKR 13.30 billion and Profit After Tax (PAT) of PKR 7.41 billion, representing a 2.35x increase in PBT over the corresponding period last year. Earnings per Share (EPS) stood at PKR 12.31.

The growth was broad-based across the Bank’s core business streams, supported by an expanding customer base, rising transaction volumes, and continued investments in customer acquisition, talent, technology, and digital innovation.

Total revenue increased by 38.53 percent to PKR 46.67 billion year-on-year, reflecting strong momentum across lending, treasury and fee-based streams. Net markup income grew by 37.0 percent, supported by the expansion of the lending portfolio and treasury investments, underpinned by strong growth in customer deposits. Fee-based income increased by 40.63 percent, supported by higher revenues from payment services, including online payments, disbursements, collections and insurance products.

Non-markup expenses increased to PKR 32.80 billion, in line with revenue growth, reflecting investment in customer acquisition, engagement and merchant penetration, as well as risk-sharing costs from higher digital lending volumes. The cost-to-income ratio was 70.27 percent.

Customer deposits grew by 59.06 percent year-on-year to PKR 174.39 billion, while maintaining a strong deposit mix with a CASA ratio of 96.99 percent and a current account ratio of 79 percent. Net advances reached PKR 31.65 billion, resulting in an advances-to-deposit ratio of 18.15 percent. Asset quality remained healthy, with non-performing loans at 2.91 percent of gross advances and a coverage ratio of 165.07 percent.

The Bank remained adequately capitalised, with a capital adequacy ratio of 27.54 percent as of September 30, 2026, well above the regulatory requirement. Earlier this year, in July, the Pakistan Credit Rating Agency (PACRA) upgraded easypaisa’s long-term entity rating to “AA-” and maintained its short-term rating at “A1”, recognising the Bank’s strong financial performance, robust risk management, sound asset quality and improved capital position.

Commenting on the strong quarterly performance, Jahanzeb Khan, President & CEO, easypaisa digital bank, said, “These results demonstrate that our growth as a digital bank is translating into strong and sustainable financial performance. With an expanding customer base, growing deposits and increasing adoption of digital financial services, we are building a broader digital banking ecosystem that goes beyond payments. Our focus now is to deepen customer relationships through lending, savings, remittances and Islamic banking, while continuing to advance financial inclusion and Pakistan’s digital economy.”
