KARACHI: International Packaging Films Limited (IPAK) reported a 9.2 percent year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue to Rs11.13 billion for the first quarter ended September 30, 2026, while profit after tax remained almost unchanged at Rs705 million compared with Rs704 million in the same period last year.
According to the company’s financial results reviewed by its Board of Directors, earnings per share increased to Rs1.08 from Rs1.01 in the corresponding quarter last year.
Despite higher revenue, consolidated gross profit declined to Rs1.62 billion from Rs1.75 billion, reflecting pressure on margins. The company said a 16 percent reduction in finance costs helped cushion the impact of the challenging margin environment.
The group’s export sales almost doubled to Rs3.515 billion, equivalent to approximately USD12.68 million, compared with Rs2.442 billion in the same quarter last year, reflecting progress in international markets.
On a standalone basis, IPAK recorded revenue of Rs3.42 billion and profit after tax of Rs211 million during the quarter.
The group said that following the substantial capacity expansion that supported its growth in FY26, its focus was increasingly shifting towards optimising its expanded manufacturing platform, improving product mix and strengthening its market presence. It added that quarterly margins also reflected the normalisation of trading conditions after exceptional benefits during the final two quarters preceding the current financial year.
Looking ahead, the company identified supply chain challenges arising from the ongoing Middle East crisis, citing uncertainty over raw material availability, shipping routes, delivery timelines and costs.
Management’s immediate priorities include securing continuity of supplies, maintaining operational resilience and managing working capital prudently, while continuing to focus on operational efficiency, value-added products and export development.
