TDAP holds capacity building workshop

Published Updated

KARACHI: The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), in collaboration with Greenwich University and CARE International, organised the second in a series of two-day capacity-building workshops on “Design Intervention & Sustainable Transformation” on October 22–23, 2026 at DRFT School of Fashion Karachi.

The programme strengthened the technical and creative capabilities of SMEs through practical training in design intervention, sustainable fashion, and the principles of “Redesign, Reconstruct, Redo.” It promoted innovation, resource efficiency, sustainable product development and export readiness in preparation for TEXPO 2027, WEXNET and TDAP’s other flagship initiatives across Pakistan.

More than 85 SMEs from various parts of the country participated in hands-on sessions focused on sustainable design practices, product transformation and value addition.

The concluding panel discussion, “Designing for Change: Design Intervention and Sustainable Transformation,” featured Kinza Ejaz, Sustainable Design Leader and Innovator at Chottani Industries; Adnan Pardesy, prominent fashion entrepreneur; and Eina Alvi, Textile Designer and Trainer. The panel emphasised the role of sustainable design, creative innovation and industry collaboration in strengthening Pakistan’s fashion and textile ecosystem.

Aman Paracha, Vice President, FPCCI, and Vohra, former Vice President, FPCCI, attended as Guests of Honour, highlighting the importance of collaboration among trade promotion institutions, academia and the private sector.

The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates to participating SMEs and shields to distinguished guests in recognition of their contributions.

Through initiatives such as this, TDAP continues to support SME development, advance sustainable and innovative business practices, and enhance the international competitiveness of Pakistani enterprises ahead of TEXPO 2027.
