LAHORE: A total of 471,319 bags of flour were supplied to markets across Punjab by the public and private sectors on October 13, 2026, Director General Food Punjab Amjad Hafeez said here on Wednesday.

He said the provincial government was taking continuous measures to ensure the uninterrupted supply of quality flour to the public across the province. He added that there was no shortage of flour in Punjab and that adequate supplies were being maintained in markets throughout the province.

According to Amjad Hafeez, a 10-kilogram bag of flour prepared from government wheat was being sold at the fixed price of Rs1,100. He further said all flour mills in Punjab were continuing to grind government wheat as per routine. He stated that 225,525 bags of 10kg flour prepared from government wheat were supplied to markets on October 13.

In addition, 160,168 bags of 10kg flour and 42,813 bags of 20kg flour prepared from privately procured wheat were supplied to markets in different districts of Punjab. The DG Food said the public and private sectors had collectively supplied 471,319 bags of flour to the provincial markets during the day.

He added that a strict crackdown against hoarders and profiteers was continuing across Punjab.

The food department and other relevant authorities were also monitoring markets to ensure the continuous availability of flour across the province. Amjad Hafeez said action against those involved in hoarding flour and engaging in profiteering would continue to ensure the availability of quality flour at affordable prices for the public.
