KARACHI: Gold prices shot up on Wednesday, tracking a global market’s rise, traders said.
The yellow metal saw an increase of Rs7,900 to reach Rs457,236 per tola with Rs6,773 to Rs392,006 per 10 grams, All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said.
World bullion market posted a gain of USD 79, closing gold prices at USD 4347 per ounce while silver inched up by USD 1.4 to settle at USD 65 per ounce, the association added.
Following global market’s uptrend, domestic silver prices grew by Rs140 and Rs120, reaching Rs6942 per tola and Rs5,951 per 10 grams, it said.
It is important to understand that the open market may sell gold and silver at prices differing those announced by the association which links them to interbank exchange rates.
