Govt reduces petrol price by Re0.58, diesel by Re0.17 per litre

  • New prices will remain effective until Monday
Published Updated

The federal government declined the price of petrol by Re0.58 per litre and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) by Re0.17 per litre for the next three days.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Friday revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.

The price of petrol was decreased by Re0.58 per litre, taking it from Rs342.60 to Rs342.02 per litre.

The price of HSD was declined by Re0.17 per litre, from Rs371.61 to Rs371.44 per litre.

The new prices will remain in effect from Saturday, August 29 to Monday, August 31, 2026, in line with the government’s ongoing practice of adjusting fuel prices based on international oil markets and other cost factors.

In the previous review on Thursday, the government decreased the price of petrol by Re0.50 per litre and HSD by Re0.19 per litre.

to announce such flimsy reductions government spends thousands to convince the people that it is working hard for their benefit but it barely succeeds.
