Petrol price rises Rs1.12, diesel sees Rs1.11 hike per litre

  • New prices will be effective till Thursday
Published Updated

The federal government increased the price of petrol by Rs1.12 per litre and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs1.11 per litre, effective from Wednesday, August 26, to Thursday, August 27.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Tuesday revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.

The price of petrol was increased by Rs1.12 per litre, taking it from Rs341.98 to Rs343.10 per litre.

The price of HSD was raised by Rs1.11 per litre, from Rs370.69 to Rs371.80 per litre.

The new prices will remain in effect until Thursday, in line with the government’s ongoing practice of adjusting fuel prices based on international oil markets and other cost factors.

In the previous review on Monday, the government increased the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs0.39 and Rs2.40 per litre, respectively.
