KARACHI: A ceremony was held to hand over modern fire tenders to Rescue 1122, attended by Sindh Minister for Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah and Adviser to the Chief Minister Sindh Gianchand Esrani.
During the ceremony, 35 modern fire tenders were handed over to Rescue 1122. The fire tenders have been purchased by the Local Government Department Sindh and will be provided to municipal corporations and union committees across different districts of Sindh to ensure a prompt and effective response to fire emergencies and other emergency situations.
Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Minister for Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah said the Local Government Department had purchased modern fire tenders to further strengthen rescue and fire emergency services in the province. He said the fire tenders would be provided in phases to different districts and union committees across Sindh, adding that the availability of modern fire tenders would significantly enhance the capacity to deal with fire emergencies in urban areas and ensure a timely response to incidents.
Nasir Hussain Shah said rescue and fire services in different districts of Sindh were being equipped with modern facilities and essential machinery. He said the Sindh government was focused on ensuring that citizens received immediate and effective rescue services during emergencies. The minister said more modern fire tenders were also arriving and would be distributed across all districts of Sindh according to need and priority. He added that necessary facilities would also be provided to all union committees to strengthen fire emergency response at the grassroots level.
Nasir Hussain Shah said the provision of fire tenders would improve the response time of fire emergency services at the local level and enable better arrangements for protecting the lives and property of citizens at district and union committee levels. He said the process of providing modern machinery, fire fighting equipment and other essential facilities to enhance the operational capacity of Rescue 1122 was continuing. The minister said the provision of modern fire tenders to Rescue 1122 was an important step towards protecting citizens’ lives and property and ensuring immediate assistance during emergencies. He said fire emergency services would be further strengthened and made more effective across all districts of Sindh in phases.
Adviser to the Chief Minister Sindh Gianchand Esrani said the provision of modern fire tenders to Rescue 1122 was an important initiative for ensuring timely action during emergencies. He said the availability of modern vehicles and equipment would enhance the fire fighting and rescue capabilities of the service. He said facilities were being provided to make the Rescue 1122 system in Sindh more active, effective and modern. He said the government’s priority was to ensure an immediate response to accidents, fire incidents and other emergencies. He added that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remained among the top priorities of the Sindh government and rescue services were being strengthened with modern machinery and necessary resources.
Gianchand Esrani said the availability of fire tenders at the local level would help save valuable time during emergencies and enable immediate action, while extending fire emergency facilities to union committees would provide citizens with better rescue services at the grassroots level.
Relevant officers and officials of Rescue 1122 were also present at the ceremony.
