Norwegian foreign minister to visit Pakistan on Aug 13-14

Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide will visit Pakistan for the first time in a decade to discuss bilateral cooperation, trade, climate change, and regional developments with his Pakistani counterpart.

Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide will undertake an official visit to Pakistan on August 13 and 14 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Office said on Wednesday.
This will be the first visit to Pakistan by a Norwegian foreign minister in a decade, according to the Foreign Office.
During the visit, Ishaq Dar and Eide will hold delegation-level talks covering the full spectrum of Pakistan-Norway relations.
The two sides will discuss ways to further expand bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and investment, climate change, renewable energy, education and people-to-people contacts.
They will also exchange views on important regional and international developments.
The visit comes amid sustained high-level engagement between Pakistan and Norway, including telephone conversations between the two foreign ministers in March and April 2026, as well as the visit of Norway’s State Secretary Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik to Islamabad in May.
According to the Foreign Office, the visit will provide an opportunity to further strengthen the longstanding and cordial relations between Pakistan and Norway and explore new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
