Jura Energy Corporation (Jura), a Canadian energy company, announced on Friday that its development well Maru-3, located in the Maru Lease, located in Punjab, Pakistan, has been completed and brought into production.

“Jura announces that the development well Maru-3, in the Maru Lease, has been completed in the Pirkoh Limestone formation of Eocene age,” read a statement.

The Maru Lease covers an area of approximately 15.41 square kilometres and is situated across Rahim Yar Khan in Punjab and Ghotki in Sindh.

During a post-completion test on a 64/64 inch choke, the well flowed conventional natural gas at an average rate of approximately 1.02MMcf/d with an average wellhead flowing pressure of approximately 105 psi, said the company.

“The development well Maru-3 was drilled to a total measured depth of 951 meters. After tie-in with the production facilities, the well has been put on production and is currently producing approximately 0.7 MMcf/d of gas,” Jaru said.

The company expects production to increase after the production build-up survey and acid simulation, which is currently planned to be carried out in Q4 2026.

Jura holds a 10.66% working interest in the Maru Lease, which is operated by Oil and Gas Development Company Limited.

Jura Energy Corporation is a publicly listed energy company incorporated in Alberta, Canada, that is engaged in the exploration, development, and production of petroleum and natural gas properties in Pakistan.

It operates in Pakistan through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Spud Energy Pty Limited (SEPL) and Frontier Holdings Limited (FHL). Both SEPL and FHL hold working interests in various exploration licenses and leases in the country.
